How to Tell Which Scenario You’re In

Use the most specific reference you have. The hierarchy is:

  1. Exact part number → Scenario 1.
  2. Brand name only → Scenario 2.
  3. No part number, part still installed → Scenario 3.
  4. Unclear if it’s a vehicle product at all → Scenario 4.

If you have two references, start with the exact part number. If you have a brand and a symptom, go with the brand and then verify dimensions. Small Orders Aren’t a Different Species
